Jimmie Dee Smith, an attorney  in Solo Practice in Yuma, Jimmie is an elected member of the Board of Governors. Jimmie was president of the State Bar of Arizona 2006-2007. 

As a sole practitioner, during his entire practice,  Mr. Smith’s present practice focuses primarily on bankruptcy cases and representing clients in business matters and commercial disputes.. During his years of practice, he has represented many clients in criminal and civil cases in the Arizona State and Federal Trial and Appellate Courts. Mr. Smith has been sole  lead counsel in over 100 Jury Trials and has handled many Appeals in the State and Federal Courts. Jimmie Smith is  Certified by the State Bar of Arizona as a Specialist in the field of Bankruptcy Law.

Mr. Smith has been active in many Yuma County Bar and State Bar of Arizona activities, including serving twice as President of the Yuma County Bar Association. He has served more than 20 years on the State Bar of Arizona Board of Governors, representing Yuma and La Paz Counties. During his service on the State Bar Board of Governors,  Jimmie served one-year terms in all of the  State Bar Officer positions - Secretary-Treasurer, Second Vice President, First Vice President and President-Elect.and President.  Mr. Smith is also a member of the American Bar Association House of Delegates.

Mr. Smith earned his law degree from Arizona State University in 1970, where he was a member of the first graduating class of the College of Law. He also attended Arizona Western College in Yuma, received his business degree from Northern Arizona University. Most importantly Jimmie Smith attended grade school in Toltec, Arizona.
